Home office & Kitchen flooring Renovation Part 1

Happiest of Mondays to you Friends! Thank you all for the sweet messages about my feature in Southern Living Magazine, I'm beyond grateful and humbled that they even reached out to me last year for this feature. I've been keeping it a secret for a long time and I'm so happy to finally share the news. As soon as I get my copy, I'll try to write a blogpost about it.

But I've been wanting to share some before and after pictures of the flooring in my kitchen and home office. And my oh my, what a difference changing the flooring, removing a large cabinet for more space and repainting the walls and trim can make. I'm still not done with both of these specs but walking into both of these rooms spark so much joy now with the renovating that I've gotten done so far.

Pictured below is the new flooring.

Old flooring underneath the carpet.

So first things first, there was this horrible dark green textured carpet in both room. Yes! Carpet in the kitchen- WHAT ON EARTH WERE THE PREVIOUS OWNERS THINKING!!!???? Carpet in the kitchen is equally as disgusting as carpet in the bathroom! I was curious to know what was underneath because I did find the original hardwoods underneath some carpet in the hallway and Master bedroom.
But needless to say, No hardwood, just this very old broken tile from I don't know when. This horrid looking tile also went into my laundry area. My Flooring guy is amazing and I love how my floors turned out.

We also removed this big cabinet and there is so much more space.

Lets talk about this paint color- The color shown is a canary yellow. Yellow is a pretty color, but I love a more neutral palette so that I can switch things up and I love the more calm coastal tones.

Before Reno
Bye Bye green carpet and yellow walls.

Loving the new color- White Duck Sherwin Williams.
This is the same corner above, just transformed below.

I'll try to share Part 2 soon with you! But I hope that you enjoy Part 1.

Home Scents

Hi Friends! It is no secret that I love candles anything that smells good for my home. I rounded up my favorite candle scents and essential oils for your essential oil diffuser to create a cozy environment.

This candle doesn't ship until September but it perfect for the coming fall season - all things pumpkin! It's from Volcano and can be found here. This candle from Voluspa is a great transitioning candle and I have it and it smells soooo good. These two from Bath and Body Works are my favorites; I just finished burning the Leaves candle. I feel like Leaves is a classic Fall scent. The cranberry woods candle is also a good one and I feel it would make a great gift and crowd-pleaser. Also, another crowd-pleaser is the Capri Blue candle in the Volcano scent. This Jo Malone candle is currently on sale it has a sophisticated, warm floral scent. Here's is a more citrus and earthy scent.

Now for essential oils- I have recently fallen in love with Essential oils. I love my Essential oil diffuser. I have found that I use these oils most often and I love them. These two are also on sale here and here. I also love this citrus scent. Citrus is my personal all-time scent.

Now on to candle accessories, to extend the life of your candle and to keep your candles burning nicely, I highly recommend, I mean highly recommend this candle wick trimmer. It's a great accessory and makes a great gift too. Also, this candle snuffer is a great buy as well.
Lastly, My sister told me about this USB candle lighter. And OH MY I'm so pumped about this item. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it is just such a great concept and all you have to do is charge it up. It comes in 4 colors. Gold for me please🙋.
I hope that this post puts you in a cozy state of mind and thank you so much for stopping by!

Matouk Towel review and GIVEAWAY

Hi Friends! I wanted to share with you a favorite of mine and that is Matouk Towels. I absolutely love a soft towel to wrap in after a warm bubble bath or shower. And these towels literally are the softest ever! I actually bought my mom some of these towels for a Mother's Day gift two years ago and she said that she loves them. And she loves that they're still fluffy and soft after washing them. So they make a great gift. I also love the history behind the towels and the craftsmanship. The Matouk business spans three generations and is quite the American dream. My favorite feature about these towels is once you use the towel and hang it up it dries quickly. That is a feature of a very high-quality towel; most towels stay wet for a while due to polyester or other synthetic ingredients. The bath towel is also large which is so perfect. I'm average height and it's almost taller than me. So if you have a tall husband he'd love it too!😊
I actually have some myself and I love using the washcloth for me because it's like washing my face in a soft, luxurious cloud. LOL. These towels also come in a plethora of colors. I chose white because I love that spa feeling. However, there is a lavender color that I found out they have and I'm in love!

The towels are actually carried at a local boutique here in Central Florida, Agapanthus, that's how I found out about them. Check out their website here and be sure to follow them on Instagram here and support this small business.

With that being said The owner of the boutique Agapanthus and I have teamed up to give one lucky reader and follower the chance to win their very own Matouk towel set. That includes a large bath towel, a hand towel, and a washcloth. This is a great giveaway gift and I am so excited about it. I only recommend things that I love and I love these towels and have them and have given them as gifts. So that says a lot.

To enter this giveaway

1. Head over to this Instagram post and like it, 2. follow Agapanthus on Instagram as well as my Instagram. 3. Tag as many people as you can. The more tags the better your chances of winning; so tag away.
4. The Giveaway will end Wednesday, August 5th at 9 p.m., and the winner will be randomly chosen.

Thank you so much for stopping by and be sure to enter this giveaway!

Reading nook Chair Before and After

Hi friends! Long time no blog. I have been crazy busy with moving into my house, getting all settled in and filling it with furniture. And speaking of furniture my mom had a large, comfortable chair that she kept in the den and I always loved the square shape and asked could I have it. It has been in the family since I was a young teenager. So fast forward three years later after asking could I have it; I finally have it. After I moved into my house I had it customized to my personal taste. I love white furniture so I had it recovered in a super durable white fabric. It is my absolute favorite. See the before and after below. Also, be on the lookout for more furniture projects that I got from my mom that I'll be customizing. Thank You Mom!

Front Porch inspiration

I have been collecting inspiration for my soon to be front porch. So I made this inspiration collage to put my vision together of what I want my porch to look like. I hope this inspires you. And I just can’t wait to start decorating!

I love this Porch Swing! I also love lots of plants. I also love white painted floors on a porch too, these are some of my favorite whites. Lots of lighting like lanterns add a beautiful ambiance or even a basket pendant.
