Thrift & Antique Store Treasures

Hi Friends! So you all may know that I absolutely love a good home decor/Furniture find. I love it even more when they are a great price and a true treasure and unique.
I don't like to spend a lot on home decor because I like to switch things up but I also like quality pieces. You can find some great pieces at Thrift/Antique Shops for great prices too. Since I'm always on the road for work, Sometimes on my way home I'll stop by random places and sometimes I find true gems.
Like this photo below, I was on my way home and swerved into the parking lot when eyed a beautiful chair that now lives in my unfinished Master bedroom-lol😆

This beautiful old Egyptian door piece was a great find at an antique shop that was closing; I bought it for maybe $35 or less. I threw it in my backseat and it was hanging slightly out of the window; but I got home and to this day its one of my favorite pieces.

I love baskets, especially the pattern ones. I found this one at a thrift shop for $2, normally these are quite expensive.

Here's that chair that I was talking about. Needs a cushion and maybe an accent pillow; but I love it on its own.
This peacock rattan magazine holder was a yard sale find for $5- it currently holds my 2 year old nephews books.

In the picture I mention the lamp, however the large fan in the corner was a thrift store/consignment store find for $10. It gives a great Bali vibe.

This chair was a great price only $5! It was in amazing condition.
I also found a $10 rattan full size headboard at a salvage yard.

This goes to show that great pieces can be found everywhere, if you do a little searching and look in the unexpected places.
I'll be sure to share more of my finds with you along the way.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs from Florida💜

Home office & Kitchen flooring Renovation Part 1

Happiest of Mondays to you Friends! Thank you all for the sweet messages about my feature in Southern Living Magazine, I'm beyond grateful and humbled that they even reached out to me last year for this feature. I've been keeping it a secret for a long time and I'm so happy to finally share the news. As soon as I get my copy, I'll try to write a blogpost about it.

But I've been wanting to share some before and after pictures of the flooring in my kitchen and home office. And my oh my, what a difference changing the flooring, removing a large cabinet for more space and repainting the walls and trim can make. I'm still not done with both of these specs but walking into both of these rooms spark so much joy now with the renovating that I've gotten done so far.

Pictured below is the new flooring.

Old flooring underneath the carpet.

So first things first, there was this horrible dark green textured carpet in both room. Yes! Carpet in the kitchen- WHAT ON EARTH WERE THE PREVIOUS OWNERS THINKING!!!???? Carpet in the kitchen is equally as disgusting as carpet in the bathroom! I was curious to know what was underneath because I did find the original hardwoods underneath some carpet in the hallway and Master bedroom.
But needless to say, No hardwood, just this very old broken tile from I don't know when. This horrid looking tile also went into my laundry area. My Flooring guy is amazing and I love how my floors turned out.

We also removed this big cabinet and there is so much more space.

Lets talk about this paint color- The color shown is a canary yellow. Yellow is a pretty color, but I love a more neutral palette so that I can switch things up and I love the more calm coastal tones.

Before Reno
Bye Bye green carpet and yellow walls.

Loving the new color- White Duck Sherwin Williams.
This is the same corner above, just transformed below.

I'll try to share Part 2 soon with you! But I hope that you enjoy Part 1.

Introducing Ala von Auersperg Clothing Brand

Hi Friends, I wanted to introduce to you a new to me clothing brand- Ala von Auersperg.  I love when companies with such unique and beautiful clothing reach out to me. Especially ones with such a chic Palm Beach aesthetic. They have a new Destination collection which is one of the items I'm wearing. It literally is so beautiful; you all know how much I love a beautiful printed maxi dress and this one is a button-down shirt maxi and it is so breezy. I wore it walking around and near the water and not only did it get so many compliments but it is also very comfortable and the quality is also great. This beautiful blue and green print are called Bird of Paradise. One of my favorite aspects of this brand is that the prints start out as a painting and then is translated into a beautiful outfit.

I styled and accessorized this shirt dress with a bamboo tote straw hat and shoes for the ultimate resort look. I can't wait to style more pieces from this beautiful brand and be sure to let me know what you pick up from Ala von Auersperg. I have my eye on this dress Stunning!

Thank you all so much for stopping by! Stay tuned for more from Ala von Auersperg.

Verses of Peace and Unity

Hi Friends,

I wanted to provide some verses of peace. We all know that we definitely need peace, not only in our lives, but also in this world. With all of the violence, riots, murders, looting that we have not only seen at the Capitol; but including the past summer that left people with decimated cities, neighborhoods, and worst of all, death. I wanted to share some verses that will provide peace and hope; because as a Christian, I will always advocate for peace and civility. Because that’s what Jesus did and would do.

I hope that these verses encourage you-

Matthew 5:9 KJV
[9] Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Romans 12:18 KJV
[18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Mark 9:50 KJV b

And have peace one with another.

Luke 1:79 KJV

[79] To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Psalm 133:1 KJV

[1] Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

I hope these verses are an encouragement to you and I'll leave you with a quote from Martin Luther King Jr.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

And as the Bible says, Be ye kind to one another. Epheasians 4:32 a

Have a great day friends!

Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Hi Friends,  since its January and we are all getting back on our A-game with eating healthier and making health a priority. I thought it'd be great to share some healthy recipes that I personally eat for breakfast.

We all have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
So the first of this series of recipes is all about breakfast; they'll be more recipes to come.

So first off is this delicious breakfast bowl. It is my version of a breakfast egg scramble. The ingredients include Apples and Sweet Potatoes and of course, eggs.
I first tried the apple and sweet potato combo at a friends and decided to add it to my scrambled eggs for some extra nutrients. Also, I thought it was a good savory, and filling breakfast.

Literally, the only ingredients are- 1 serving
2 eggs scrambled
1 sweet potato cubed
1 apple cubed
For the apples and potato cook them until they're soft in a tablespoon of butter/ghee or avocado oil- your preference.

On to another favorite is my Greek yogurt and fruit bowl.

This is super easy to put together.

The ingredients include;
A cup in a half-ish of Greek yogurt
Add some of your favorite fruits- Mine are Strawberries, I love strawberries they are my absolute favorite fruit. Papaya, Blackberries, and Bananas are also my favorites.
Granola
Honey- optional

If I'm not overally hungry in the morning and want something a little lighter; I'll eat an apple and some peanut butter. That's usually on the go while I'm driving- lol. Even though its not overally extravagant, it stillprovides nutrients and protein from the peanut butter.

There is a another recipe that I like to make for breakfast but I'll save that for another blogpost. Let me know if you try any of these and what's your breakfast go to.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
