Delicious, Simple and Healthy recipe

Hi Friends! I love a healthy and delicious dish, I also love when it’s simple. Today I’m sharing a side dish that can be accompanied with your main course. I actually got this recipe from someone but I just added a little extra flair with the seasonings. So first things first, sweet potatoes are one of the most healthy foods you can eat and add an apple to the mix it’s equally as delicious and healthy.
Here are the ingredients you’ll need:

1 or 2 Sweet potatoes (depends on how many your serving) one sweet potato gave me 2 servings
An apple
2 in a half tablespoons of butter
Nutmeg* optional

Heat your pan with the butter and add your cut up sweet potatoes and apples. Let them cook on low/medium heat until soft. Approximately 30 minutes give or take.

Add nutmeg if you’d like or simply serve as is!
It’s one of my favorites and it takes so delicious. Let me know if you try it.

I even using these totes for work- I'll throw my laptop and planner and any other paperwork that I may need at that moment and I'm all set.

The pictures of my collection- the exact prints are sold out but the style of bag in new prints are still available.
Below I have pictured my new favorites from recent releases.

Seven things I’m Thankful for

Good morning ☀️ I’ve been thinking lately of all the things I’m thankful for; and I wanted to share and reflect this weekend all things positive. First thing’s first, having a thankful heart produces contentment in what you have right now. Having a grateful heart helps you to realize that it’s not peace wanting more things but having peace with the ONE who gives you those things.

Today’s verse
Colossians 3:15 KJV
[15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Here’s my current thankful list-although I’m incredibly thankful for a lot more.

1. My family
2. My home
3. My job
4. My garden
5. My beautiful home state of Florida
6. The beach
7. The freedom to pray to a God who listens and answers

Happy Saturday from the Sunshine State☀️

Crustless Quiche recipe

So I decided late last night to make a quiche for lunch today. I had some veggies in from the garden that I wanted to use and some leftover items in the fridge that I didn’t want to waste. No wasting food 🙅🏾‍♀️  It turned out delicious.
Here are the ingredients that I used:
Two eggs
Boar’s Head Feta cheese- because it’s the best.
Kale
Tomatoes from the garden
Chives
 1/2 cup All purpose flour
 1/2 tsp of Baking powder
1 cup of Milk
1/3 cup of Buttermilk- for extra flavor
garlic powder
You can add in salt and pepper if you'd like but I added it afterwards because I heard adding salt to eggs before cooking makes them dry. But I didn't have to add much salt because I had a lot of flavor with my ingredients.
I set my oven to 400F added olive oil to my favorite stoneware dish, linked here and here's the whole set including the quiche stoneware as well. I mixed all of the ingredients together and cooked for about 30 minutes. These appetizer plates are my favorites and SUPER inexpensive. I love the classic white combined with a modern square shape.

Let me know if you make this recipe and feel free to add whatever you'd like, it doesn't have to be exactly like mine.

Sending virtual Hugs,

from the Sunshine State💜

At home Pedicure

Hello Friends! So I had my very first at-home pedicure and it was a success. Since the spas are closed still- I decided to do my own pedicure because I was long overdue. I wanted to share the items that I used for my at-home pedicure. First things first I had to soak my toes and get any remaining gel off and then I took a nice hot bath and let my feet soak. I wanted to mention that I bought the most amazing and skin-softening soap from a small boutique named Agapanthus. They have quite a few scents- I have actually bought them for my mom and my sister for Mother's Day last year and this year, so I'm a big fan. They are made in France and fairly inexpensive for such high quality. I'll link the website to purchase here. I bought the carrot scent for myself and it smells ahhhhmazing!!!!!!😍 If you'd like to check out more of Agapanthus great gifts, decor, and spa essentials I'll link their website here and their Instagram.

I did buy pumice stone for my heels to soften them up and to get rid of any callused skin which wasn't very much. I try to take care of my feet since I love wearing sandals. But I highly recommend buying a pumice stone. Afterward, I used a foot mask from the same boutique and I loved it. I really felt like I was in a spa except in my own home. I let the foot mask stay on for about 20 minutes and then added my favorite moisturizers.

If you've been wanting to do your own pedicure, I highly recommend it. Especially on a weekend, where you're winding down for the evening and staying home.

I'll link my robe - which I had monogrammed here.

Happy Sunday Friends.

Porch Days

Hello! As we spend a lot more time outside and on our porches- I thought it is time to show a little front porch decor. I have two porches a front and back, stay tuned for the back porch design. But I sit on the porch almost every day and some times for hours. So, I thought I'd make the front porch a little extension of the inside of my house. The only thing about sitting outside, at least here in Florida are the Mosquitoes! There are actually two ponds nearby so they swarm over and like to bite me lol😅.
But thanks to a small Florida business that specializes in interior design and hospitality; I was able to not only save myself from being eaten alive but support a small business- Shop Cape house. You can check them out here.

A lot of the items on my porch are sold out or from HomeGoods. But I'll link similar items just in case you'd like to recreate a similar look.
Chairs- Similar/ Rug- Similar here and here I love this Navy patterned planter.

Books and Audiobooks Roundup

Good day friends! I wanted to share some book and audiobook recommendations. I listen to a lot of audiobooks; since I travel a lot and I love books its the perfect combination. But if and when I do pick up a book and read it makes me so happy and its the best way to unwind.  I'm going to display the book cover and talk about each one. I've actually had so many that I've listened to but narrowed them down to four for now- I'll update you as I read and listen to more.

The Help- one of my favorites! I really enjoyed this one. Here’s the summary. *Disclaimer: This book does have some not very polite language. I try to steer away from books like that and also there are a few social behaviors that I disagree with but overall it is a very captivating book.

The Help, Kathryn Stockett's debut novel, tells the story of black maids working in white Southern homes in the early 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi, and of Miss Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan, a 22-year-old graduate from Ole Miss, who returns to her family's cotton plantation, Longleaf, to find that her beloved maid and nanny, Constantine, has left and no one will tell her why. Skeeter tries to behave like a proper Southern lady: She plays bridge with the young married women; edits the newsletter for the Junior League, and endures her mother's constant advice on how to find a man and start a family. However, Skeeter's real dream is to be a writer, but the only job she can find is with the Jackson Journal writing a housekeeping advice column called "Miss Myrna." Skeeter knows little about housekeeping, so she turns to her friend's maid, Aibileen, for answers and finds a lot more.

I also enjoyed this Book titled Rush- here’s the summary.

RUSH is a beautifully written coming-of-age novel, set against the backdrop of sorority rush in the south. Lisa Pattonweaves an unforgettable story of friendship and the bonds between mothers and daughters, while also exploring larger themes of class, race, and inequality.

The residence was recommended to me and thoroughly enjoyed it. Here’s the summary.

Full of stories and details by turns dramatic, humorous, and heartwarming, The Residence reveals daily life in the White House as it is really lived through the voices of the maids, butlers, cooks, florists, doormen, engineers, and others who tend to the needs of the President and First Family.
I'm currently reading Emma- I took a little break from it due to busyness, however, I plan to finish it soon.
The summer after university, Emma Woodhouse returns home to live with her widowed father and launch her interior design business. Apart from cultivating grand career plans and managing her father’s hypochondria, Emma busies herself with the two things she does best: matchmaking and offering advice on everything from texting etiquette to first date destinations.

I hope that you enjoy these as much as I have and I'll update you on my next set of books.

Good Night from the Sunshine State.

God answers prayers

Good Morning! I wanted to share some good news if you've been following along you know that my Mom had been furloughed - without pay due to the Coronavirus. We were so worried and even stressed. The unemployment website was down due to so many people trying to apply. I don't want to go into a lot of detail but we really prayed- family and church friends. This past Wednesday I really got down to business and prayed to God for answers and told Him that I know He answers prayer and my Faith is BIG! Fast forward to Thursday (the next day.) My mom received an abundance of good news, She's supposed to go back to work Monday. My main reason for writing this devotional is that God really does exist and answers prayers. If you've ever had any doubts about God or Prayer please feel free to reach out to me and we can chat further. I will continue to pray for those of you who have asked for prayer. I wanted to share a message of hope with you all.
