Back to school or work Lilly Planner

Good evening friends! I hope that you've had a great Monday thus far. I recently bought a new planner from Lilly. I have been using these planners now for years. There was on particular year that I tried something new and couldn't wait until the year was over so that I could go back to my Lilly one- Lol😆
I literally love this style of planner- it works for me. I personally always get the jumbo size because I always have a busy schedule and need lots of space to write. My bestie bought me the small size; which I use for blogging and organizing my content calendar.

So since back to school is right around the corner; I thought it'd be great to share how I use my planner and share a little throw back of all my past prints.


These planners are not just great for BTS, its also great for everyday use and keeping your schedule organized. As you can see I wrote out my to do list and when I'm done I just cross it off. I also love that you have a full view of the calendar month and then each day has its own individual writing space. Some days for me are much lighter, so if I have some really busy days- I just roll my notes into the following day and that works perfectly for me. 

Now to the fun stuff, I love the pretty prints and the stickers that come with it. 
If you are super detailed, you can color coordinate by events. Like meetings or classes in purple and tasks or homework projects in green and so on...
I'm really old fashioned and just can't put my whole schedule on my phone; it just doesn't work for me since my day job is very detailed and requires a lot of organizing, planning, and specific details that just can't be put on my phone.
I love that there are several note pages in the front so that you can write extra important notes.
Another thing I do to keep the most important task at the top of the list. Is categorize things by alphabet. For example A-is for the most important task to get done that day. B- is a task that I also need to complete before the end of the day and C-if I don't complete it today its no big deal. I can follow up the following day. That's how I organize the task in my planner. How do you organize your planner?

Friday notes


Happy Happy Friday to you! I hope that it has been a good one for you thus far.
I have been extremely busy and wanted to take some time to reflect on the week and finish my day with a tasty iced vanilla coffee.

First of all, I'm so glad that it's Friday. For me that means sleeping in is right around the corner😆.

But that's not the main reason for popping in today. 
You may have noticed that I haven't been posting on instagram a whole lot lately and that is because I don't want that little square to consume me, I don't want to be sucked in by my phone checking it all the time, seeing who liked and commented, or comparing my growth to others. Or being down on myself because I'm not popular or mainstream enough or that my content is good enough. Plus, it has been a very fickle place-with changing algorithms, censoring/bullying people for not thinking a certain way and eventually becoming a video sharing space. To put it simply, I don't want to idolize wants going on on my screen. The only one I aim to worship and be accepted with is Jesus.

I personally joined instagram for inspiration and to express my creativity and to share my love of photography and design. It now has become somewhat of a toxic space. So with that being said, I am going to focus more on my blog (new one coming soon) before social media it was just blogs and I actually miss that. I want to focus more on my blog because I can control it and be creative speak freely and share all of the things I love and am passionate about. I'm not saying that I'm never going to post on social media anymore- because I will- I have contracts/collabs etc. to feature. But just know that I'll be stepping up my blogging game and creating a fun newsletter and all of the great  things that come with blogging once my new blog launches.

Little black summertime dresses

Hello Friends! I hope that you are having a wonderful day thus far! It's a sunny and hot day here-but beautiful at the same time.

Speaking of sunny and hot, I know that black is typically not a summer color. But sometimes it's necessary and needed. And It is a classic. So I'm sharing some fun Summertime black dresses that are light and breezy and came be worn during various events.
 My dress is currently on major sale runs true to size; it has such beautiful details like eyelet at the hem. I styled mine more casually. It has the best twirl factor too!
However, it might be almost sold out so here is a similar option and its beautiful.

Summer Basics

 Hello and I hope that you are having a beautiful day thus far! I wanted to share with you some summer basics and actually, staples for year round. Only difference is summer time these basics are styled differently than in the cooler months.

First off, Chambray, I LOVE chambray, especially button downs.  And is my favorite! This top looks great with color skirts, layered over white dresses, or styled with denim-like I styled mine here. I love the casual denim look in the light and medium wash paired together. Here are a few option here and here.



White button downs are definitely a summer staple. They are classic and can be easy dressed up or down.
Here are a few different options to choose from this linen one-comes in other colors. My exact one is a cool gauze fabric, the white is sold out but it is available in a few other colors and currently 55% off with code LOVEIT when you checkout.
A basic white t-shirt doesn't have to be s basic when its a shoulder flattering boatneck style. My exact ones currently on sale for less than $14. Be sure to use the code SHOPSALE when you checkout. I love this t-shirt and wear it with so many other pieces. The quality is great too.

These vintage v neck t-shirts are definitely a summer basic. They're great for layering and comes in a plethora of colors. And best of all they are less than $23.

Ralph Lauren American flag sweater

Hi Friends! As promised, I wanted to share a blogpost with some sizing info on the Ralph Lauren American flag sweater. I literally ordered it over the phone Friday and got it 24 hours later. I ordered it from the Worth Ave. RL store because I wanted to keep my dollars here in Florida. But you can definitely order online here.




Now, sizing- I ordered my regular size and it fits perfectly. However, It'll be snug if I want to layer underneath. But, I have no plans on layering underneath, I'll mostly be layering on top with coats, blazers, etc. 

I highly recommend if you are between sizes to size up and if you want to layer underneath, size up as well. 

It's meant to fit a little more slim and modern according to the website. And from my wearing of it, I agree.  It is not tight though, so no worries there. It is great quality as to be expected, its 100% cotton and it is NOT itchy at all. It comes in 2 colors cream and navy. I hope that come out with a turtleneck version- I'd love to have that in Navy for winter.

I plan on styling it for cooler mornings/evenings on the beach during cooler months, also with denim and riding boots for a classic look or layered with a coat and heels for a more elevated classic and chic look.

Overall, its a 5 star sweater to me and worth every dime, as it is a classic and can be styled so many ways throughout the year and not just during patriotic months.

Loving Lately Part 9

Hello Friends! thanks for tuning in to my 9th edition of "Loving Lately." 

First off I want to share with you this delicious recipe that I made this week. I truly is so tasty! It was the first time making green Thai curry and it won't be the last time I make this dish. I'll link the recipe here. You'll thank me later.😊

I have been wearing this gold sandals constantly lately. They're comfortable and go with all of my casual sundresses. These are less than $15 and come in multiple colors.

I love this dress, I mean love! I wore it earlier today after being in my pjs all day. It's roomy, so I recommend sizing down. It just restocked so grab it before it sells out again.

Another favorite is this tote from a new to me brand- Shorebags. This tote holds so much and is GREAT quality. I highly recommend.

Last but certainly not least, I have been loving my beautiful blooming Mystic Dahlia that's currently blooming in the yard; the color issue unique and vibrant. If you live in Florida and are looking for a new addition to your garden, this plant is a good one. It does very well in the heat.

Abbey Glass classics



Happy July 5th! I hope that you all had a great 4th of July and celebrating our beautiful countries freedom.

I wanted to continue with the fresh colors of summer and talk about my favorite Abbey Glass pieces that I have mixed and paired with other pieces. Like this beautiful organza skirt paired with  their new linen pieces. This deep ocean green/blue tie top. It comes with a matching bottom but wanted to show how this cute top looked with their skirt and how you can easily style it a variety of ways. I paired it with heels and a hat for a classy look. 


I also styled this skirt earlier in the spring with a chambray top and cardigan for a more casual look.
 

One of my favorite things about styling outfits is getting creative with multiple ways of styling each piece.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July- also known as Independence Day for our wonderful country! I'm beyond grateful to live here and to have most of my freedom. I'll always fight to maintain the freedom given to us by our Creator first and foremost and aid out by our Founding fathers. 

Today I spent it at church where I have the freedom to worship and with my mom and 2 year old nephew.

Mom and I took him back home and enjoyed a delicious lunch at a Laotian restaurant and it was quite tasty and then hopped over to our favorite Boba tea shop.

I was quite exhausted so after coming home, I took a lovely nap to refresh. I'm a firm believer in getting rest. I hope that everyone has had and are having a great 4th. 

I'll link my favorite festive red and white dress here. I wore this all day and its so flow and comfortable.
