Smoothie Mixtures

Good morning ☀️ as promised here are some of the delicious smoothie recipes that I love making!

As it gets hotter here in Florida I crave something cold and healthy to drink for breakfast and sometimes dinner. And smoothies are a great and creative way to get some extra vitamins and nutrients while staying cool.

One ingredient I always add is...... you guessed it- strawberries 🍓 I looooove strawberries and they are packed with lots of vitamin C and potassium. So a lot of these recipes will include strawberries.

Recipe 1- Half cup of fresh strawberries, half cup of Greek yogurt, 1 cup vanilla or regular coconut milk. Half of a frozen banana, a half cup of fresh blackberries. Blend and enjoy!

Recipe 2- Half cup of fresh strawberries, half cup of raspberries, half of a frozen banana 🍌 a cup of mixed spinach with kale from my garden. Half cup of Greek yogurt 1cup of vanilla or regular coconut milk. Blend and enjoy!
Recipe 3- half cup of fresh strawberries, half cup of  frozen peaches, half cup of frozen banana, papaya, half cup of spinach, cup of vanilla or regular coconut milk. Half cup of Greek yogurt. Blend and enjoy!
Recipe 4- half cup of fresh strawberries, half cup of peaches, a few blueberries, a few raspberries, half cup of spinach, frozen banana. Half cup of Greek yogurt. Cup of vanilla or regular coconut milk. Blend and enjoy!

Recipe 5- Half cup of fresh strawberries, blackberries, half cup of Greek yogurt, blueberries, raspberries, half cup of frozen banana, papaya and cup of vanilla or regular coconut milk. Blend and enjoy.

If I remember, I add my collagen powder. If not I’ll take my collagen liquid afterwards.

There are a few more that I can add to this list- but it’s super easy to make a smoothie. Just blend your favorite fruits and other healthy ingredients like collagen powder or peanut butter. I have a few more recipes I’d love to try!

Stay tuned for more🍓🍉🥬

Let me know if you try any of these.

Much love from Florida,

Healthy & Delicious Meal Ideas

Hi Friends! Thank you so much for stopping by, I wanted to share a couple more meal ideas. If you are new to reading my blog; then you will find out that I like to cook and eat fairly healthy. Don't get me wrong, I love me some  Chickfila. But I'll say that I eat pretty healthy 75% of the time and that is usually from what I cook at home. I also love shopping local at the Farmer's Market and finding locally grown produce. I can get the benefits of local foods and support local farmers.

One of my favorite lunches lately is this delicious salad. The ingredients include:
Locs
Half of an avocado
Leafy Greens/Arugula
Red Onion
Manzanilla Olives
Chick Peas
and my home made salad dressing.
Salad dressing ingredients: one serving
Half of a lemon
Three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
Two table spoons of Olive oil
Salt/Pepper

This second recipe is something that I threw together and it was so yummy.
Its a breakfast casserole or you could eat it anytime if you'd like.
Ingredients:
Seven eggs
A few handfuls of spinach for those extra vitamins from greens
Diced bell pepper
Diced Red Onion or Yellow- I used red because that's what I had on hand
Two links of Boar's Head Honey crisp fully cooked Chicken Sausage diced
Diced sweet potato- I recommend giving the sweet potato a little saute before adding to the casserole for baking.
Once you've added all of the ingredients add to preheated oven and bake until egg is thoroughly cooked.
Feel free to add salt and pepper to your mixture.

I have a few more recipes to share stay tuned. Let me know if you try any of these!

Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Hi Friends,  since its January and we are all getting back on our A-game with eating healthier and making health a priority. I thought it'd be great to share some healthy recipes that I personally eat for breakfast.

We all have heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
So the first of this series of recipes is all about breakfast; they'll be more recipes to come.

So first off is this delicious breakfast bowl. It is my version of a breakfast egg scramble. The ingredients include Apples and Sweet Potatoes and of course, eggs.
I first tried the apple and sweet potato combo at a friends and decided to add it to my scrambled eggs for some extra nutrients. Also, I thought it was a good savory, and filling breakfast.

Literally, the only ingredients are- 1 serving
2 eggs scrambled
1 sweet potato cubed
1 apple cubed
For the apples and potato cook them until they're soft in a tablespoon of butter/ghee or avocado oil- your preference.

On to another favorite is my Greek yogurt and fruit bowl.

This is super easy to put together.

The ingredients include;
A cup in a half-ish of Greek yogurt
Add some of your favorite fruits- Mine are Strawberries, I love strawberries they are my absolute favorite fruit. Papaya, Blackberries, and Bananas are also my favorites.
Granola
Honey- optional

If I'm not overally hungry in the morning and want something a little lighter; I'll eat an apple and some peanut butter. That's usually on the go while I'm driving- lol. Even though its not overally extravagant, it stillprovides nutrients and protein from the peanut butter.

There is a another recipe that I like to make for breakfast but I'll save that for another blogpost. Let me know if you try any of these and what's your breakfast go to.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

Weekends Relaxing in my new PJs

Happy Weekend Friends! If you have been following for a while you may know that Saturday is my favorite day of the week. It's where I relax, refresh, reflect, and spend lots of time with God.  I wanted to share with you how I make the most out of my weekend. I didn't want to call this my weekend routine because I really don't have a weekend routine. Although every Saturday may not look exactly the same.

First things first I wake up whatever time that I want or whenever my eyes wake up. And depending on if I have enough food in the house, I'll make a delicious breakfast. This morning I made my favorite frozen buttermilk biscuits from Callie's Hot little biscuit and threw together a small serving of raspberry and strawberry preserves along with scrambled eggs. A quick tip that I have learned about scrambled eggs cook them in butter and then add salt and pepper afterward; it keeps the eggs nice and fluffy and not hard and rubbery. Ok, I'm done with the culinary tips.

I love taking my time on the weekends to really dive into the scriptures, praying and devout time thanking the One who gives me everything that I need.

Some days I might head over to the Farmer's market, which is literally a nice walk down the road or a short drive. I'll pick up all of the things for recipes or meal prepping for the week ahead.

Pretty much the rest of the day is lounging in my pajamas- these are my new favorites from Lilly. I love love love this print and it supports a worthy cause. The colors are vibrant and I love the floral print is amazing and it also includes the breast cancer awareness ribbon as well. The robe is on my list because it's so soft, oh, and the blanket too! Speaking of blankets by noontime I'm ready to take a nap and wake up to eat a yummy lunch that I'll pick up from one of my favorite restaurants downtown or I'll prepare a delicious lunch.

I eventually put real clothes on when it's time to leave for Church. But for the most part, I'm in my jammies and circulate from the bed, my porch, kitchen, and back to my bed again.

How do you spend your weekends? I love hearing from you all. Thanks for stopping by.

Fall Picnic on the beach

Happy Sunday Friends! We are a couple weeks into the fall season, even though for some of us here in the south, particularly Florida, are still experiencing summer weather. As we watch our Northern Friends celebrate fall with changing leaves crisp air, and sweater weather, Some of us are over here with the AC on full blast. 😅 However, rest assure I'm going to share with you a few activities that we can do during the fall months here in the south until it gets colder. So, with that being said let's dive into the first Florida or Coastal fall activity- A picnic on the beach.
The other day I packed up my cooler took a short drive over to the beach and had the most peaceful breakfast. I spread out my blanket and my new favorite exotic hardwood cutting board from Wren Home. This board was the perfect addition to my little picnic- one thing that I wanted to point out was you can customize your cutting board and add your monogram or name. There are also other styles to choose from as well. It is a great quality board and the wood is absolutely stunning. I do have a coupon code to save you 20% when you checkout and the code is EBONEE20.

Another fall activity is creating a little s'mores board using the cutting board and making a small fire at night, if its cooler at night where you live, or making a delicious charcuterie board over a nice book club chat. If there isn't a beach where you live, you can sit by the lake or park and have a  lunch picnic with your new cutting board. The ideas are endless! But my favorite is sitting by the beach and enjoying the sound of the waves while eating my greek yogurt.
Let me know what you purchase after using my coupon code, I'd love to know! Thanks so much for stopping by.

My Favorite Healthy Snacks while Traveling

Hi Friends! Thank you so much for stopping by. I'll be traveling again for work this weekend and I'm packing my favorite foods. Some I have been eating for a while; some I just discovered and wanted to share with you. First off, I drink a lot of water, so that was a must. And I love Angie's Boom Chicka Pop popcorn they have a variety of flavors including some holiday flavors that are delicious. This one is one of my favorite flavors. This beet orange juice is also delicious made with Florida oranges which made me an instant fan. I love the regular orange juice as well as the strawberry lemonade. Delish!

I also tried out a new breakfast item. This strawberry overnight oats are my new favorite for on the go travel days and it tastes yummy too. When I'm home I normally eat a nice bowl of greek yogurt for protein, granola, honey, and fruit. This breakfast item actually has greek yogurt so it was perfect. I have to have a lot of protein in the morning. Also, some of my favorite snacks are nuts. They are a good source of protein.

All of the non-perishable snacks I put in my new Lilly Palm Beach zip-up tote so that everything is nice and safe. I love this print. I picked it up last week and the Lilly team said that it's not even on the website yet, so its very possible I'm the only person with this bag. LOL. They have it in a different print. The print name is "Postcards from Positano." I'll link the one on the website here for you to check out. I love the zipper because I can secure my items and they won't fall out. Last but not least my favorite fall drink at the moment is apple cider latte. Its the perfect on the road drink. It gives me all of the Happy Vibes.

Girls trip in Naples

Hi There! I hope that 2018 has been great so far! On our Naples Mom & Daughters trip, we had to have brunch at  our favorite restaurant in Naples.- Jane's Cafe on 3rd- It has a fun British- American vibe. The food is so delicious, I highly recommend it if you're in the area. Its located in the historic Old Naples area in a pretty coral colored building.

They have the most amazing drinks. I like to get the freshly squeezed strawberry orange juice- because you know strawberries are my favorite. My mom and sister tried their raspberry pear lemonade with the fresh fruits mixed in. Not only did they say it was delicious but it looked pretty too.
They also have vegetarian options as well, last time I had the avocado toasted and fresh fruit. Delish!!! The weather was so perfect-we sat outside in the courtyard and the staff is so friendly. I can't wait to back.

New Mercies, New Year,

As 2017 comes to a close, I wanted to write my last devotional & Blogpost for 2017. This year has been amazing in so many ways. It also has been bitter after loosing a very close loved one a couple months ago,  but it has also been oh so sweet! As I reflect on all of the good things, I become more and more thankful- for my Family, Career, this amazing world we live in, and most all Jesus! He has taken such good care of me and my family beyond what I deserve; he has also bestowed an amazing amount of mercy and grace to me. And for that, I am forever grateful. Psalm 145:9 says,
The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
As 2018 approaches, I hope to be a much better person than I am today. Sharing, loving, kind, and giving mercy as I have been given. I hope appreciate whats really important and not superficial. I hope for all things good. I hope to travel and explore this beautiful country that I live in and document each and every beauty with my camera. I hope to bring joy and positivity to someone. I also hope to make a good difference in our world.
Happy 2018 and Blessings to you all and thank you for following along my little blog and reading.

Autumn Energy Bar Recipe

Hi There!  So, we all know that I like to cook and eat healthy, as much as possible. ( Never mind my frequent chick-fil-a stops that doesn't count.) I also love healthy snacks for my busy on the go life.  So, I recently was given a non-cooking snack bar recipe and I wanted to share it with you.  I tweaked mine according to what I had in my kitchen and my personal taste.  Let me know if you make this delicious energy bar.  I filled mine with some yummy autumn inspired ingredients. Like Pumpkin seeds and cranberries.

Here's my version of this recipe.
Ingredients:
1 cup dried cranberries with less sugar added
half cup of chopped pecans
a third cup sunflower seeds
a third cup of pumpkin seeds
half cup of dried fruit ( I used apricots, figs & plum)
a tablespoon of flax seed
a tablespoon in a half of honey
1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
In a food processor or blender, pulse the dried fruit, pecans, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds until very finely chopped.  Add the dried Cranberries, flaxseed, sesame seeds, pulse mixture and honey and stir it until it starts to form a ball.  Prepare a piece of parchment paper to fit a small pan approximately 8x8 and press mixture very firmly into into prepared dish with lightly greased fingers.  Cover with a plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.  Afterwards cut into about 6-8 bars.  You can store it in a container for up to 2 weeks or place in cellophane bags with a bow and share it or bring it with you for an  between meeting snack like I did. I love this super easy recipe and will be making it again really soon. Thank you for stopping by and reading.

Psalm 23

Happy 4th of July Weekend everyone! I hope its a good one for you so far! I just wanted to write a devotional today on something that I've been thinking about. One of my favorite verses is Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
This verse is truly what I pray because its what I want for myself. I want all of God's goodness and mercy to be with as long as I'm alive on this Beautiful Earth that He created. And the last Part of the verse is also dear to me. I want to dwell in God's house or presence for ever. God is always so faithful to me and I want to be thankful and serve Him and live for Him for ever. I never want to leave God. He is the Best Heavenly Father. I hope this encourages you to strive to be faithful to God as he is to us. And to dwell in his Presence For Ever. Have a great 4th of July! And thank you for stopping by and  reading.

Breakfast Ready!!!

HI THERE!!!! Well, As promised I'm writing this blogpost on my Grandma's delicious oatmeal. I know it sounds crazy saying my Grandma makes the BEST oatmeal but it is the truth. My cousin and I have been trying to master it for a little while. And I'm almost there. WooHoo!!! I asked my Grandma who I call "Nanny" what's the secret and the one thing she told me  was to cook it slowly. So here's a slightly revised version of the recipe.I usually make this while I'm getting ready for work or on days I'm working from home because the key is slowly cooking the oatmeal.

For 1 serving a half cup of oats ( I like the all natural whole Grain Old fashioned oats) with a little less than a cup of water on medium low heat for 10 minutes.
And then I add 3 quarters of a cup of milk and turn it to a medium heat for about 7 minutes. And then I add 1-2 teaspoons of real vanilla extract and 1 tablespoon if you like it sweeter 9 Like my Nanny) add more sugar. I like to watch my sugar intake. And for the last 3 minutes have it on high. I add nuts and fruit for extra vitamins and protein and because I love it. Let me know if you try this recipe and if you like it. And thanks for stopping by.
