Lilly Shift dress Bookmark Craft

Good Day Friends! As promised, I'm sharing one of my favorite crafts to date. My Lilly Pulitzer Shift dress bookmarks - This would even be cute as a banner too. It's a great way to repurpose your old Lilly planner  paper. 

So first, I typed in shift dress templates on my laptop and found a free download that I just resized and printed out. The ones I used are pictured below. I also typed in long sleeve dress for t-shirt dress version of one of Lilly's dresses. 

I then just cut out the resized template and traced it over my desired Lilly print paper from old planners. 

Sometimes I double traced over bookmarks for a thicker and more sturdy bookmark. 

There's variety of ways to make these cute bookmarks.

I used an adhesive like this to keep everything in place, Here's a less expensive adhesive option for the same amount.

If you don't want to do any cutting, you can also use a circuit machine (loving this lilac color); which I also own. But sometimes I love getting out my craft scissors and doing some cutting.

I add a little bit of stamping or a ribbon and voila! You've got a cute gift for a book loving friend! I might* do a little video, but in the meantime if you have any additional questions feel free to leave a note and I'll be sure to respond.

Fall decor

Hi Friends! I know, I know, its still summer. Buuuuuut, fall is my favorite season and my favorite season to decor for. So here's a little bit of fall decor inspiration- just a little. And I'm so tempted to pull out my fall decor, but I'm trying not to be that person. Lol😆

These pumpkins are so cute, I love a neutral pumpkin and I love green ones too. It goes with so many fall decor styles, candles always makes everything cozy and this pumpkin candle snuffer is adorable and so perfect for the coming season. This pillow is so cute and is a checklist of all of the essentials for fall. Fall is my favorite pillow. And this beautiful throw blanket is definitely on my radar. It comes in multiple colors and is under $100.

Be my Guest, Be my Guest

Hello and thanks so much for stopping by! I love a good cozy bed that I never want to get out of. I recently refreshed my guest room and recently received the most high quality sheet set that I've owned to date. The American company Red Land Cotton was so kind to send over these hem stitched sheets and I slept in them over the weekend and Sunday morning I didn't want to get up. That's how good they are- I hear they even get better with every wash. So I am beyond excited for my guest to sleep in them too!

My favorite part about Red Land Cotton and the wonderful items that they produce is that their products are made from cotton on their Northern Alabama Farm. I love supporting American businesses and Farmers. 

They also produce towels and even some classic clothing pieces. This won't be the last time you hear me talking about this wonderful company.

I always like for my guest to be comfortable and feel at home as well as have a good night sleep. Like a cozy hotel suite kinda vibe. So these are all of the things that I had in mind when updating this room. When giving this room a refresher, I added an accent wall of seagrass like wallpaper you can shop here.

The next thing I did was upgrade the bedding- Like really upgrade. The sheets that I had were so low grade and they even started to pill after a few washes. So I was sooooo happy when these beautiful Hemstitch Red Land Cotton sheets showed up at my doorstep.

I also updated the wall art- I have a quite the collection of African wall baskets that I have collected from various places like thrift shops. So here are some wall baskets that you can shop here and here. I love adding plants to every room, they just liven up a room and add such a vibrance and softness to a room.

I love pretty little vases these from Anthropologie are a great price too!

The vibe that I was going for in this room was like the rest of my house cozy, boho/coastal. And I think that I nailed it. My accent pillows are from various places and the smaller one is from a global boutique in St.Augustine. I love the various block prints that were quilted into this beautiful pillow. I also love adding old pieces with new ones. I found this beautiful vintage, creamy chenille, fringe blanket at a thrift shop. And layered it with my beautiful new sheets and my well loved white duvet.  The peacock blue velvet chair is so vibrant and adds a pop of color it was a great find. It was one of those lucky finds. Flower Arranging

 Hello! So as promised, I wanted to share with you my personal flower arrangement tips. Now, Disclaimer* although I do have some floral arranging training under my belt- I am by no means an expert. But I have a philosophy that you can't go wrong with flower arranging. You are pretty much arranging beautiful pieces of art in vase to display. How can it possibly go wrong?!

So first things first, grab all of your flowers- Specifically filler flowers, greenery, small flowers, and focal point flowers. Flower cutting shears, a vase of your choice, and tape to make a grid on the top of your vase.

Start by adding water to the vase and then start taping off the top of your vase to create a grid to start laying out the greenery as your base. Then start adding smaller flowers- I added ranunculus as and then my focal flowers were sunflowers and white peonies. I added some filler- this pretty purple Veronica.

At home office

Hi Friends! So I wanted to share with you a little home office inspiration. Now disclaimer* My office is far from perfect and is always so messy between my day job and filled with boxes from my hobby of blogging. However, I'm really loving the bright and airiness it gives off, unlike before! Now, There used to be a hideous indoor/outdoor carpet in here and it was AWFUL! My flooring guy that I've used in all of my flooring projects throughout the years, ripped it out and discovered some old flooring underneath. Below the first three photos are the before photos- brace yourselves!

Most of the items in my office are either from HomeGoods, thrift stores, or online. I get questions about this beautiful framed coastal art piece, I'll link similar ones here, here, here, and here.

One of my favorite elements in my office is my seagrass like wallpaper. I have the natural color, but it also comes in a pretty blue. Its a peel and stick option and is under $50 a roll.

Another favorite is my Vintage style rug from India. I love the Turquoise, cream, and fringe color and details. Its a little bit coastal in the colors and boho with the print and tassels. Definitely my vibe!

My desk is also the perfect size for this space- it is a good size but not too big. It's just how I like it. I purchased it here and its under $200. My curtains are a natural linen and the curtain rod hardware is linked here. I love this curtain hardware and have it throughout my home. The quality is great and sturdy and it comes in other finishes.

The walls used to be a very bright lemony yellow. But I tones it down with the seagrass wallpaper and the color White Duck from SW.

 

We removed the large cabinet that was taking up so much space and replaced it with my desk which fits so much better. Once we removed the carpet and this large cabinet; the whole space looked five times larger!

Like I said before, I'm loving this space so much and love working from here whenever I work from home. It sparks joy!

My Favorite White Bedding

Hi Friends! My master bedroom is FAR from complete; as you may see I have nothing on the walls and barely anything else. But that is totally fine; younger me (6 months ago) would be worrying that every single room in my house is not complete. But older me (6 months later) is just enjoying my home as it is and also enjoying the renovation, decorating process, and pacing myself.

So with that being said, I recently bought my favorite bedding for my room from one of my favorite home brands. Pottery Barn! I bought their PB Essentials bedding, which is just a basic design. But is totally my favorite. The prices are good too and you're getting quality bedding. BTW- this post is not sponsored, although that'd be great! I just love this brand and my duvet is so perfect to me. I also, have this duvet in my guest room and I even had it at my old house. I also bought some super soft Tencel pillow cases from West Elm. Trust me, these pillowcases are like a cloud! I highly recommend them. I layered my upholstered platform bed with these beautiful white Euro pillow that have a nice texture. They are so beyond perfect!

The bougainvillea was a fun little find at TJMaxx, it was tucked away in a corner and I just had to have it. Its a pretty fuchsia color with slight purple tint. I'm usually not a fan of faux flowers, but these have a realistic look and are so pretty. I found a similar set here and here in case you are interested.

Now here's a tip for your duvet cover. I have a queen size bed; but for a fluffier duvet, (this one is perfect for light warmth) I bought a king size duvet. Also, buying a good quality duvet also helps with the fluffiness. I'll definitely be adding more pillows, because ya know! Stay tuned for more decor/design projects.

Mantle Decor Crafts

 Hello There! Thanks so much for stopping by! So since we are officially into the spring season, I wanted to spruce up my fireplace mantle and give it a little fresh spring touch🌿.

I was inspired a fellow DIYer and Crafter to pull out my Cricut machine- which I had stored at my moms house- and get to crafting again. 

I wanted to do a project that would blend well with my homes overall aesthetic- coastal, fresh, boho, and a little bit global. So I got to searching on my Cricut account and found the perfect cutouts of Monstera and a variety of tropical leaves. I also picked up some card stock from my local craft store and wooden beads for that ultimate boho vibe, along with some jute string and created this cute banner. Not only was it fun; but it matches my living room perfectly and all of the plants that I collect.🌿

I’ll be doing some more fun Craft Projects soon stay tuned!

The Bungalows Paint colors

I get questions quite often about the paint colors I use for my house. So I thought I’d write a blogpost sharing these colors. In most rooms, I use the most perfect shade called “White Duck” from Sherwin Williams. It goes perfectly with my aesthetic and flows perfectly with the second color that I use. The latest color is “Sea Salt” also SW. it’s the perfect coastal green. 

Here's an example of the color sea salt. I mainly use it in the bathrooms and hallways. I had this color in my other house as well.

Spring Mantle Decorating

Hi Friends, thanks for stopping by my little creative corner of the blog world! I thought since I'm home a lot more these days that it'd be great to do a little fireplace mantle refresh. Spring is probably my second favorite month; mostly because of all the bright and fresh colors. I decided to do a boho-tropical decor vibe with the palm fronds, colorful Anthropologie inspired vase and succulent plants. By just adding these few elements and some floral related books, it added instant life to the mantle. I hope that you are inspired by the update!

Reading Nook Decor Update

Hi Friends! Since I've been home during the afternoon time and all of my favorite stores are closed. I've decided to freshen up my reading nook with a few plants, pillows, and art from other rooms; that I actually planned on getting rid of but found it looked great in the reading nook.

I'll link as much as I can for you, just in case you'd like some of these pieces for your home. The white chair was actually my mom's and it was red. She always told me that I could have it once I bought a house. So this chair is my most favorite piece and I love that it was my mom's and I just repurposed it. The antelope head is from HomeGoods and almost all of the art is from a local or Florida Artist or even a historical clipping from a magazine of my hometown. The fiddle leaf fig tree is from a plant nursery and is also one of my favorites.

Fireplace Mantle Decorating

Hi Friends! Thanks for stopping by and reading my little blog. I decided to do a little fireplace mantle decorating by adding palm fronds and glass vases for a chic look. Also picked up a new seat cushion for the side chair and added copper hand painted plate of a tropical bird. I found it at a local antique store for $15. It’s a perfect addition; plus I love copper.  I have small copper cookware collection too.
I have a variety of palm trees on and around my property so they were free. Lol! I’m hoping to get a few pieces of furniture this week to get most of the living room complete. Thanks so much for stopping by and be on the lookout for more home decor blogpost.
