Coastal stripes

 Hi Friends! I have been wearing this beautiful new dress from Sail to Sable and it’s easily my new favorite from their summer collection! 

I have been hanging out by the water a lot lately so it’s the perfect dress for those easy breezy trips to the beach. 

It’s a very comfortable and chic dress and the classic coastal stripes are just perfect. I packed it up for the first of our summer vacation trips and it was the best decision. 

It runs true to size- however, I did size for an oversized fit.

Loving Lately Part 8

 Hi Friends! I can not wait to share what I’ve been loving lately! If you’re new to my blog, I like to share about things that I have been “loving lately.” It can be recipes, outfits, places, people, etc. 

This time I’ll be sharing a delicious recipe- probably the best ever. So I make a delicious macaroni and cheese (if I may humbly say) I usually get asked to make it for Thanksgiving. I decided to make it for a church luncheon this past weekend and it was definitely a hit. 

I occasionally switch up the cheeses I use but it always turns out delicious no matter what. 

Here’s what I used this time.

Elbow pasta

8 oz of cheddar cheese

8 oz of gruyere cheese

Three quarters of the cottage cheese container of a 16 oz 

Lots of butter that I grate and sprinkle and mix in with cheese

Enough Whole milk to cover all of the pasta- it depends on the container and how much macaroni you’re making. I made a 9x13 dish so I use a pint. 

Salt, a tablespoon of cumin and nutmeg

Mix and bake on 350 for about 45 minutes 

Delish!

Next up is a blogger Mary and Crew and my oh my! How I have been loving her account! She is currently overcoming a battle with cancer but her spirit is always positive and inspiring. She has 3 little adorable children and the cutest account ever! She’s a fellow design enthusiast and her taste is impeccable. I recently discovered her through another blogger and I’m so glad that I did! She also collaborated with Breck and Grier and created the prettiest straw totes- yep, you may have seen them and have already gotten one for yourself.

Next is my new favorite fuschia/purplish dress 💜 I’m so in love with this dress y’all- it is soooo good and soooo comfortable and soooo flowy and soooo perfect for summertime! I can NOT recommend this dress enough! It is currently on sale 40% making it less than $60. Use code SUMMER when you checkout. It does run roomy which is perfect fine for me. 

Last but not least, is a glass cup that’s only $12! It’s a juice glass but I drink water, iced coffee and kombucha from it. It’s so pretty and delicate and comes in multiple patterns. But of course, it’s strawberries 🍓 for me please! It also has coordinating flowers etched on it that are just stunning.

Preppy Summer Stripes

 Summer is here! It’s hot and sticky but it’s ok because we get to wear the prettiest dresses ever! Speaking of pretty dresses, I recently got this preppy colorful striped dress. It’s so lightweight and can be worn as a coverup or styled for a day out like I styled mine. It’s currently on major sale and comes in multiple colors and a pretty medium blue and white stripe. Unfortunately this multi colored one sold out super quick but I love the other colors too! I’ll link it here for you to check out if you’d love one too!

Smoothie Mixtures

 Good morning ☀️ as promised here are some of the delicious smoothie recipes that I love making!

As it gets hotter here in Florida I crave something cold and healthy to drink for breakfast and sometimes dinner. And smoothies are a great and creative way to get some extra vitamins and nutrients while staying cool.

One ingredient I always add is...... you guessed it- strawberries 🍓 I looooove strawberries and they are packed with lots of vitamin C and potassium. So a lot of these recipes will include strawberries.

Recipe 1- Half cup of fresh strawberries, half cup of Greek yogurt, 1 cup vanilla or regular coconut milk. Half of a frozen banana, a half cup of fresh blackberries. Blend and enjoy!

Recipe 2- Half cup of fresh strawberries, half cup of raspberries, half of a frozen banana 🍌 a cup of mixed spinach with kale from my garden. Half cup of Greek yogurt 1cup of vanilla or regular coconut milk. Blend and enjoy!

Recipe 3- half cup of fresh strawberries, half cup of  frozen peaches, half cup of frozen banana, papaya, half cup of spinach, cup of vanilla or regular coconut milk. Half cup of Greek yogurt. Blend and enjoy!

Recipe 4- half cup of fresh strawberries, half cup of peaches, a few blueberries, a few raspberries, half cup of spinach, frozen banana. Half cup of Greek yogurt. Cup of vanilla or regular coconut milk. Blend and enjoy!

Recipe 5- Half cup of fresh strawberries, blackberries, half cup of Greek yogurt, blueberries, raspberries, half cup of frozen banana, papaya and cup of vanilla or regular coconut milk. Blend and enjoy. 

If I remember, I add my collagen powder. If not I’ll take my collagen liquid afterwards. 

There are a few more that I can add to this list- but it’s super easy to make a smoothie. Just blend your favorite fruits and other healthy ingredients like collagen powder or peanut butter. I have a few more recipes I’d love to try!

Flower Arranging

 Hello! So as promised, I wanted to share with you my personal flower arrangement tips. Now, Disclaimer* although I do have some floral arranging training under my belt- I am by no means an expert. But I have a philosophy that you can't go wrong with flower arranging. You are pretty much arranging beautiful pieces of art in vase to display. How can it possibly go wrong?!

So first things first, grab all of your flowers- Specifically filler flowers, greenery, small flowers, and focal point flowers. Flower cutting shears, a vase of your choice, and tape to make a grid on the top of your vase.

Start by adding water to the vase and then start taping off the top of your vase to create a grid to start laying out the greenery as your base. Then start adding smaller flowers- I added ranunculus as and then my focal flowers were sunflowers and white peonies. I added some filler- this pretty purple Veronica.

Hi Friends! Over here planning some staycation/vacation outfits that are lightweight and summery, yet cute and chic.

I love a good long sleeve dress- mostly because it protects your skin from the harsh sun.

Soft and Neutral- Lilla P.

 Let’s start first by talking about how beautiful this outfit is! I mean really! This beautiful smocked ruffle top and skirt from Lilla P. is absolutely stunning 😍 the feminine touches, the class yet chic style and let’s not forget the lightweight material which we all need with Summer fast approaching. It’s actually already here in Florida. However, these pieces can be styled separately and with other pieces  I paired mine together for a more monochromatic look. Both pieces come in other colors and stay tuned for other ways that I’ll be styling these and mixing and matching them. The color I’m wearing is called cameo and it’s the perfect cream color. The skirt and top run true to size. You can dress it up or down- I styled mine more casually with these $15 gold sandals that are very comfortable by the way. And with a  hat- which is my signature look I love hats. I’ll be sure to link everything for you so that you can check out all of the new arrivals from Lilla P.

Blue orchid Dress

 Happiest of Mondays to you all and thanks for stopping by! We all know I'm a huge dress lover and collect printed ones with lots of color, in particular. 

Draper James recently launched a beautiful new line of dresses and this one is included. It has the prettiest bright blue orchid print and I'm loving it! This dress would also make a great summer wedding dress with the puff elbow sleeve and its a wrap style with the option to tie on the side. 

I wore mine around my home and in my reading nook and it made me feel like a walking flower.🌼

Red and White Summer Stripes

 Hello Friends! How many of you are looking forward to those summer evening outdoor activities like bbq, Long Beach walks, 4th of July festivities? If so, raise your hand 🙋🏾‍♀️

Well, I’ve got the perfect red and white striped dress for you for all of your outdoor activities. I never wear red but this red and white striped dress is so pretty and the shade of red is actually perfect! So that’s saying something If I’m wearing red. Not only can you wear it during festivities but its also perfect for those weekly HomeGoods trips🙊 

Ok, in all seriousness, I love this dress and it’ll be rotating in and out of my closet all summer long. It would look good with both white and denim jackets too.

Flowy Outfit for warm Days

 Hello Friends! It’s has been warm here in Florida and summer is weeks away! But after being a native here, you get used to it..... sorta. 

During the warmer months I love wearing flowy, breezy, yet chic outfits and this one is all of it! 

This white organza skirt from Abbey Glass is STUNNING! No drama, purely STUNNING! It can easily be dressed up or down like I’ve done with this chambray top and a fun sun hat. 

I brought along my new favorite cashmere-cotton blend cardigan from J.Crew because ya know... Florida girl☀️ 

The Brand Abbey Glass has so many new pieces including this skirt- you need it for your next party or just because. Abbey Glass is a female founded because that started in 2015 and is Southern Living Tastemaker. Which is so perfect because I styled this outfit just for porch sitting in a little nearby Southern town💜

My Chambray Tencel top is a “must have” it’s definitely a closet staple and it’s soooo soft. Bonus: it’s on sale! Chambray goes with everything stay tuned I’ll be styling it other ways  in the meantime you can find it here.
