Mad for Plaid

So, I've never really been a red wearing person or even plaid. But, I recently jumped on the bandwagon and bought a red buffalo plaid flannel shirt. I really must say that I LOVE IT!!! I decided to put my own spin on this top from Old Navy and paired it with a black skirt and leopard Heels. I always look for any reason to pull out these pretty heels. I love print mixing in the cooler months and this combo is so chic and classic.

You can also wear this with leopard flats and a puffer vest for a more casual look or if its colder where you live. Thank you for stopping by and reading.

Room Refresh

Hi there! Every often I get the redecorate bug. So this weekend I gave my bedroom a little refresh, I also decided to step out of my usual color schemes of whites, creams, neutrals and lots of bold color accents.  This time I decided to try something new. I still kept my favorites whites and creams, but I added pops of red, black, gold. and some natural elements. I have to say,  I'm really liking it!
I mostly added bold accent pillows and throws. I couldn't resist this monogrammed velvet pillow and this buffalo plaid throw is super soft and reversible.  I made a flower arrangement of roses and eucalyptus. And accented the eucalyptus for a cohesive look.

I had some real cotton that I picked in Georgia. Its one of my favorite treasures from Georgia and its a hilarious story behind this cotton, too. I also accented some birchwood accents throughout for that rustic feel.  You can also add some personal touches, like this hand lettered canvas.  I just hand lettered it in a fun little quote, since we are transitioning from fall to winter pretty soon. I thought it was perfect. Above my headboard theres a little heart chalkboard banner. I love that you can write on it. I wrote " BELIEVER."

Added a touch of gold to my antique desk.

I hope that this post inspired you to step out of your color comfort zone and try something new. Thank you so much for stopping by and reading. I'd love to hear from you, feel free to leave a comment on any decorating tips.

Warm Herringbone Vest and Georgia Temps

Hi There! So I make frequent trips to Georgia for work and the temperatures can be quite cold up there.  I recently made a stop at Old Navy, they were having a 40% off of your purchase sale. As I looked around, I saw the herringbone puffer vest and I immediately thought of the  J. Crew vest that looks very similar and how I always wanted one, but didn't want to make the investment  (considering I live in Florida where its cold only 7 days out of the year.) I thought this was a good alternative since my thin company jacket is only helpful at the office or for cool Florida days. And it was a great price.( Its still on sale by the way in other colors. I tried it on and instantly loved the fit. The quality is great; I was quite surprised, its also made with some wool. It has kept me very warm and I'll also wear it on cold days or nights here I Florida. I also wore it layered over my uniform.  Its perfect for layering and it has pockets too!!!! Thats a win win!!!
I also picked up this oatmeal colored knit sweater; its my new favorite. I've been wearing it on repeat since I bought it last week.  I also pulled out my platinum Jack Rogers "Regina" flats and wore them with this outfit. They have a cute bow on them.

Ginger Bread Latte in hand to start a busy day. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Alpaca my Bags

So I'll be on the road for a couple of days for work, before heading back home in Florida to start Thanksgiving cooking.  This is my favorite time of year!!! I recently ordered this adorable top from Lilly with Alpacas on them.  The shirt says "Alpaca my bags" which is so perfect because I'll be doing just that this weekend.  This top is apart of Lilly Pulitzer's travel collection. I knew that I had to have it since I travel quite a bit. I also find it so adorable because a friend of mine had Alpacas on his farm.
I've also noticed that Alpacas are in style this season and I'm loving it.  I love the bright pink tassel trim and lettering. I plan on wearing this top quite a bit, its not only cute, but its also soft and comfortable. Thanks for stopping by and reading. Have a Happy and Wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!🦃

Easy Sugar Coated and Toasted Pecans Recipe

Hi friends! So you know those candied pecans that you buy at the grocery store for your salad? Well, did you know that they are super easy to make all you need is 3 ingredients. All of which most people have in their pantry and fridge. I made these yummy Cinnamon and Sugar Coated Toasted pecans and shared them. Everyone loved them. So here's the recipe.

1 cup of sugar
a teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
(or if you are me a lot more)
16 ounces of pecans
1 egg white
a quarter cup of water
Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit

In a bowl, separate the egg whites from the yolk & discard yolk or save it for another meal.  Add the water to the egg white and whisk until its frothy. Pour in the Pecans and stir. In a separate bowl mix the sugar, salt and cinnamon together. Add to pecan mixture.
Prepare a baking sheet for your pecan mixture and place it in the oven for approximately 20-25 minutes. Stir a couple times for even toasting. When Pecans are done let them cool and you can shake a little more cinnamon or sugar if you want extra coating. And then enjoy! Note* you don't have to use pecans. You can use walnuts or pecans too.
I added some to my salad for dinner and you can share it too. I put mine in a glass jar with a rose gold lid from Hobby Lobby (I plan on getting more of these for my house) and added a white bow.  Thank you for coming by and reading.

Let's Flamingo

So, if you're  loving Lilly's new button down Elsa Tops raise your hand! Hand raised over here! I  love this new look. And this print with flamingos on it is my favorite. I actually bought it on sale at Lilly Pulitzer in Winter Park.  I hope that they continue to make this style. It can be dressed up or down. And if its cool outside you can add a cardigan or a puffer vest.  I wore mine with a white skirt and my copper jacks for an easy put together look and I got some compliments.
By the way who shopped Lilly's birthday with the gift with purchase? I bought the cutest top which I'll be styling soon. I'd love to know what you bought. Feel free to leave a comment and thank you for stopping by and reading.

I've been able to wear all of my favorite sweaters including this new one from Lilly Pulitzer Sweater its actually the girls Ramona sweater in a bright coral color.  Since I live in Florida wearing bright colors is acceptable.
